What is Hark Pro?
Hark widely released Hark Pro on October 6, 2026. TechCrunch describes a full-screen personal assistant with chat, suggested actions and customized panels. Hark says the underlying model was trained for computer use, allowing it to navigate websites and carry out digital tasks rather than only answer questions.
In a demonstration reported by TechCrunch, design lead Abidur Chowdhury showed prompts involving expenses, email, a meeting and travel. The assistant displays a small window of its web navigation so users can see some of what it is doing. That visibility may help users inspect actions, but it does not by itself establish that the system is secure or reliable.
Why does an AI assistant need so much access?
To be useful across a person’s digital life, an agent may need access to email, calendars, files and other services. The same connections increase the stakes of mistakes, unwanted actions or data exposure. Hark says privacy is central to its approach and says it is not in the business of advertising or taking users’ data. Those are company claims, not conclusions from an independent security audit in the TechCrunch report.
For anyone testing a computer-using assistant, the practical questions are which permissions are necessary, whether consequential actions require review, and how clearly the product explains its data handling. Hark Pro has a free option and a subscription tier for heavier users. The company has also teased an AI-native device for 2027, but has not disclosed its form or capabilities.
