Gemini Spark in Google Photos: Features and Permissions
Google’s Gemini Spark can now edit pictures, curate albums, create shared collections, turn photographed event flyers into calendar entries and run multi-step workflows inside Google Photos. This Short explains what the new agent can do, who gets access first and why the convenience comes with serious questions about privacy, permissions, accidental edits and sharing.
The rollout is planned for eligible Gemini AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the United States in English. Users must connect Google Photos to Gemini and enable Spark in the Gemini app.

What to watch
An agent that can edit and share photos needs carefully defined access. Users should be able to understand an action before it changes a collection or exposes an image to others. Eligibility and rollout details also matter when comparing an announcement with what is available to a particular account.
